Overview

The College of Islamic Studies presents this public lecture series on a significant canonical text in Islamic studies, Bidayat al-Mujtahid wa-Nihayat al-Muqtasid authored by Ibn Rushd (d. 595 A.H.).

The book provides a review of the most important jurisprudential (Fiqh) issues relevant to our contemporary life, especially in regards to financial transactions. It does so by comparing between schools of thought in a jurisprudential manner, while weighing in on them in accordance with the objectives of Sharia.
