Overview
The College of Islamic Studies presents this public lecture series on a significant canonical text in Islamic studies, "Critical Study of What India Says, Whether Accepted by Reason or Refuted" authored by al-Biruni (d. 440 A.H.).
The book is considered one of the most important works describing Hindu beliefs. Al-Biruni spent 40 years in India, where he studied Hindu laws, marriage customs, food practices, festivals, social organization, and linguistic characteristics.
The lecture series will comprise several lectures every Sunday, commencing from the Spring 2024 semester's start until its end.
Registration is open to all students and those interested in studying the foundational texts of local communities. Certificates of attendance will be granted to participants at the end of the semester, provided that their absences do not exceed three sessions.
Please note that the number of seats is limited, and priority will be given to those who pre-register.
