Creating Pathways Program

The Creating Pathways Program brings together five sport programs designed to develop the next generation of female athletes in Qatar.
Spanning track and field, volleyball, fencing, basketball, and tennis, each pathway offers structured, high-level training for females aged 8 to 16 in a women-only environment.
Through world-class guidance and tailored opportunities, athletes build the skills and confidence to compete on national and international stages.

Launched in September 2024, the program is part of Qatar Foundation's FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ legacy.

Basketball
The basketball pathway focuses on core technical skills, game understanding, and on-court decision-making. Skill-based drills combine with live game scenarios to build performance and confidence within a team, with an emphasis on coordination, agility, and tactical awareness.

Tennis
The tennis pathway builds strong technical foundations across stroke mechanics, footwork, and match strategy. Drills and live-play scenarios develop coordination, reaction speed, and tactical awareness, alongside the discipline, focus, and resilience central to the sport.

Volleyball
The volleyball pathway develops individual technique and team dynamics in parallel. Participants build skills in serving, passing, setting, and attacking while learning to function within a team system, developing coordination, timing, and spatial awareness to understand positioning and game flow.

Fencing
The fencing pathway introduces a sport that demands precision, speed, and strategic thinking. Athletes develop footwork, blade work, and split-second decision-making, learning to read and anticipate opponents' movements and respond with accuracy and control.

Track and Field
The track and field pathway opens a diverse range of athletic disciplines: running, jumping, and throwing, within a single program. Training develops speed, strength, and endurance while giving participants space to explore different events, identify their strengths, and build fundamental movement technique.

Talent Development
Across all five pathways, athletes are continuously assessed. Those demonstrating strong potential are identified and guided toward advanced training opportunities, preparing them for competitive play at national and international levels.
