Overview
The Research & Scholarly Communication Course is an intensive, interactive program designed to build research skills through practical, real-world experience, transforming participants into independent, college-ready scholars. Delivered through hands-on workshops, the program equips emerging researchers with end-to-end expertise across the complete research lifecycle, from original project design and ethical AI integration to academic writing, public pitching, and portfolio branding.
Course Highlights:
• Formulate and refine broad research ideas into precise, testable research questions and select appropriate methodologies to investigate them.
• Apply principles of responsible, ethical research, data transparency, and fair standards for peer review and authorship.
• Leverage AI tools effectively and safely for early-stage research tasks without compromising academic integrity.
• Structure formal research proposals, map realistic timelines for competitions/university portfolios.
• Deconstruct research papers, master citation mechanics and reference managers, and refine drafts for college-level clarity and tone.

• Course Start & End Dates: from Monday 2nd November – Thursday 12th November
• Course Days: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday
• Course Time: 3 hours for each session, from 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm
• The course runs over 2 weeks, 3 days per week

By the End of the Course, students will:
• Author a 1-page research proposal with executable project timelines.
• Deconstruct scholarly papers and master citation mechanics.
• Translate complex technical findings into accessible narratives, design visual message maps, and deliver a live 3 minute research pitch with confidence.
• Build a university-ready academic CV and portfolio.
