Overview
In this gallery-to-studio guided tour and workshop, children spot repeating patterns in and around the museum, then build a bright paper mosaic from simple shapes. To finish, they add a bold calligraphy-inspired stencil on top for a surprise “reveal,” then share their artwork.
Children start with a playful, close-looking hunt for tiles, shapes, and rhythms in the museum’s surfaces and architecture. In the studio, they design their own mosaic by arranging cut-paper pieces into sequences and bold color blocks. To complete the work, they add a stencil layer inspired by the Lawh Wa Qalam building’s graphic marks, then do a quick show-and-tell about one choice they made.
